The innkeepers of the James Gettys Hotel invite you to stay in one of the last remaining historic hotels in Gettysburg. Restored in 1996, the James Gettys Hotel is the perfect home away from home atmosphere.
A blend between a European style, boutique hotel combined with the special amenities of a bed and breakfast make this the perfect place to unpack and enjoy your stay. Our rooms include a sitting room, bedroom and private bath. The rooms also feature a kitchenette for morning coffee, afternoon snack or romantic wine dinner.
Special touches in our guests' rooms include complimentary fresh ground coffees and imported British teas, fine toilet soaps, fresh cut seasonal flowers, wireless internet service,and plush Egyptian cotton towels to name a few.
The homebaked continental breakfast basket served to your suite includes fresh baked muffins, coffeecakes and tea breads paired with seasonal fruit. Each evening enjoy our signature dark chocolates or a huge fresh baked cookie as part of our turndown service.
Our staff is ready to assist with area travel and tour arrangements. Same day laundry and dry cleaning service is also available upon request.

Area Attractions and Activities:
The James Gettys Hotel is located in historic downtown Gettysburg, which was established in 1787. Today, many of the original buildings have been restored and a self-guided walking tour brochure is available at the hotel lobby. The tour will take you by many historic structures that have molded the heart of our community. Licensed town guides are also available for a more personal tour. As you walk through Gettysburg, you will also be intrigued by the many unique shops.
While touring the battlefield we highly recommend hiring a Licensed Battlefield Guide from the National Park Visitor Center. Your private tour guide will specialize the tour for you.
A must see is the award winning Shriver House Museum - learn of the civilian side of battle.
Nightly ghost tours are offered by Ghosts of Gettysburg, whose main office can be found on Baltimore Street. Other local activities include antiquing, hiking, the Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site.
