Our large, fully air conditioned Craftsman style home has plenty of room to relax, enjoy privacy, or gather with other guests. The 2nd story deck offers a panoramic view of the Root River valley below by day or the stars at night. The patio outside the Hope Room offers a pleasant view of nature in our 1/2 acre yard. If you prefer, you can sit on our glassed in front porch where you may even see some deer! The living room is available to watch TV, play the piano, play games or just "hang out." Wherever you are at Hillcrest Hide-Away, you get a sense of space, warmth and light.

The Hillcrest Hide-away is decorated so that you can find home style comfort wherever you are. Antiques add to the warm atmosphere. Three rooms are individually climate controlled and have comfortable seating for at least 2 people and still have plenty of space to spread out! TVs are available upon request in all rooms. Three rooms have sleeping space for extra people in your party.

Warm, homemade bread and beverages are delivered to your door each morning, followed by a full breakfast. Complimentary soft drinks and a bottomless cookie jar are always available.

Breakfast is a delicious meal with fruit, breads, meat if desired, and a hearty main entrée. For those who prefer a lighter breakfast, cereal and granola is always available.

We have 2 rooms appropriate for those with mobility problems. Although neither of them are completely ADA compliant, they have only minimal steps.
Area Attractions and Activities:
People have visited Lanesboro for more than a century to enjoy its natural beauty. Bluffs, valleys, meadows, rivers and wildlife are all part of the natural collage that surrounds Lanesboro. Lanesboro was named one of 100 Best Small Art Towns in America and one of the 50 Best Outdoor Sports Towns by Sports Afield magazine.

The Root River State Trail winds 60 miles through bluffs, forests, and rolling fields. The trail is paved and is a popular place for walking and biking. It is also groomed for cross country skiing in the winter.

Lanesboro’s downtown has been revitalized; the arts flourish, gift shops intrigue, and restaurants satisfy a variety of tastes. Believe it or not, Lanesboro has no mosquitoes!! Take a trolley ride to learn more about the history of the area or take a carriage ride to enjoy the sights. Amish tours are popular.

While here, many visitors love to peruse the Cornucopia Art Gallery and take in a professional theater performance at the Commonweal Theatre.

Hope Room: Guests may relax on a patio & enjoy our yard just outside the private entrance, or stretch out on the king-sized bed or queen sleeper sofa. The attached bathroom has a large step-in shower. Room is ramped from the parking area with only 1 step.
Harmony Suite: Curl up with a good book and an afghan in this warm sunny room. The suite has a queen-sized bed and a separate area with a queen-sized sofa-bed. The attached private bath has a full tub and shower. Books, games, and refrigerator are near.
