 Our home and barn were the heart of Knolle Jersey Farms - "The World's Largest Jersey Herd" for three generations. Situated 30 miles West of Corpus Christi, in the lush Nueces River Valley, our towering oaks provided a backdrop for many years of Boy Scout Jamborees, and our barn opened wide for bus loads of school children who viewed the gentle Jersey being milked and fed. A beautiful, pastoral getaway. To say that mealtime is important in our household is an understatement—it is the high point of our day! Meals have been a time for us to gather together, sometimes for hours, laughing and talking. Guests are always welcome, as the table just seems to grow. Area Attractions and Activities: Corpus Christi, Padre Island, Lake Corpus Christi, King Ranch, Texas State Aquarium. Part of our ranch is situated along the banks of the Nueces River, where many fun hours are spent. We provide kayaks or canoe for our guests to use, either for a playful afternoon, or a full day trek down the River, exploring under low hanging, moss covered trees. Wildlife is plentiful, as deer pause and gaze at you, turkeys gobble as you drift by, and birds of all sorts quietly glide overhead. The fishing is a great sport also, prize catfish are pulled out of the river on a regular basis. Birding takes on a whole new aspect as you walk, canoe or kayak along the river, discovering birds unbothered by humankind, in their natural environment. White stucco, king bed, down linens, patio with gas grill, full kitchen, antiques, and Oriental rug. Breakfast delivered to room. Casita: Separated from the main compound by a few hundred yards, this tiny cottage consists of one bedroom, with a king size bed, entrance hall, bath with footed tub and shower, and a small living room, kitchen area and a large covered back porch. |
