Bed and Breakfast Description

In the Pickford House B&B you will find a spacious showplace dining room, which is perfect for dinners, functions, family gatherings, corporate retreats or just hanging out around the antique fireplace. The 1860's antique bar truly enhances the elegant saloon-like atmosphere, which is reserved strictly for our guests.

When you stay at the Pickford House Bed and Breakfast you will be pampered with all the amenities you have come to expect and with many that are sure to surprise and delight. Each room offers a dozen long stem roses and a cozy warm robe. Join us for evening hors d'Oeuvres and when it is time to retire you can choose a bedtime cocktail or sweet cakes.

The Pickford House lobby features two luxurious swan carved chairs and a settee done in royal red velvet with matching swan carved tables, an antique working phone booth, elegant turn of the century wall coverings, accessories and lighting. The owners' extensive collection of fine antique glass and collector quality seashells enhance every corner of the public spaces as well as the rooms.

The guest rooms feature seating areas, art pieces that are appropriate to the times, king and queen beds, claw foot tubs with showers and the three rooms with fireplaces have large bay windows looking out on the spectacular views of the Santa Lucia mountains.

Area Attractions and Activities:

San Simeon's Hearst Castle, a site for all to take in and marvel is a short 8 miles north. Take in the essence of San Luis Obispo, with its huge Farmer's Market every Thursday, enjoy the social atmosphere and see what a college town is made of. Visit world-class vineyards, orchards, and berry farms all with tasting rooms, in close driving or biking range. Just north of Morro Bay, Cambria has miles of beaches with surf, fishing, sun bathing, or jade, moonstone rock, and shell collecting. Along with unique shops, art galleries and gourmet restaurants in Cambria Village. Bring your bike & backpack.

Mary Pickford: The Mary Pickford room, one of our premier rooms, features French blue satin draperies with rose accent hues. French bisque lamps light the bedsides. The antique fireplace mantle is the framework for a portrait of Mary Pickford.

The Douglas Fairbanks Room: a large and handsomely furnished resting place. Doug lived very much like a great and beloved king and you will too with the huge king size bed, fireplace, and sumptuous antiques.
