Bed and Breakfast Description

This dramatic four-story bed and breakfast is a unique alternative with fab rooms, artists' works on walls, exercise equipment and shaded verandas that present panoramic views above the tree line. Come stay with us and experience a different kind of bed and breakfast! We also offer an intimate setting in the heart of Houston that is perfect for hosting meetings, dinner parties or wedding receptions!

Top Shelf Rooms are for romantic stays or the CEO treatment. Standard Rooms set the standard! Mod Rooms are hip ground-floor rooms.

We love to prepare tasty organic food. Health is a part of the modern aesthetic as much as art, architecture and good company.

We have a cat that lives on the property, so we have limited availability for pets.

Modern B&B's central location ensures that our guests have the very best of Houston. We are close to both the Museum District and the Texas Medical Center. Rice University and the University of St. Thomas are just minutes away.

The Galleria is a short drive away and ready for all your shopping needs. Reliant Stadium and Minute Maid Park host many sporting events. The area is studded with award-winning restaurants and we boast a fabulous night life! Modern's owner, Lisa, is an "insider" and can direct you to all of Houston's hidden treasures... like the Beer Can House and Presidents' Heads - Chocolate Bar within walking distance... need we say more?

Most Popular Rooms:

Top Shelf Rooms: Treehouse/City View. Each fourth floor room is spacious with double high ceilings and a large bathroom with a walk-in slate shower, granite counter, a whirlpool tub and double sinks. Comfy king size beds ensure your rest.

The Standard Rooms: Located on the third floor. Two of these rooms make up a two room suite and can be booked for one to four people. The Mod Rooms: Located on the ground floor these rooms have a private entrance. The bath is up the stairs.

Check In Instructions:

Guests may check in any time after 3 pm or by appointment. Guests arriving after 7 pm please call ahead at 832-279-6367 to make arrangements for late check-in.
