Thornewood Castle Inn
Lakewood, Washington.
Thornewood Castle is World Class, Historic & One of a Kind. Experience another time, another space with an overnight visit to this magnificent estate. Perfect for a honeymoon, romantic evening with someone special, or to treat yourself to rest & renew.
Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

Nestled on four acres at American Lake and dotted with old growth fir trees is Thornewood Castle. Built in 1908 by Chester A. Thorne, this 27,000 square foot manor is of the Gothic Tudor style and is the only one of its kind on the west coast. Built as a single family residence, Thornewood is now a gracious country inn that has been lovingly restored.
Guests are often delighted when they attend one of our special evenings or weekends at Thornewood. Mysteries, theme evenings, masquerade balls, film screenings, some Shakespeare or perhaps a romantic dinner may be on the menu. Be sure to check when making a reservation to see if there will be any "special events" held during your stay that you would like to attend or participate in. A reservation is required for all our special evenings. Dates and information is listed further in our site under "Events" or "See the Castle"
Enjoy watching remarkable sunsets from the hand tiled lakeside Sunset at Thornewood patio. Medieval stained glass window insets adorn the manor as well as antique furniture and paintings. Breakfast can be delivered to your room or you may have breakfast in the Castle dining room. Whatever your choices, we will pamper you and make your stay with us a special memory.
