 We are located at Kaloli Point on the rugged Puna Peninsula. Off Highway 130 between Kea’au and Pahoa, Ala Kai Bed & Breakfast and Vacation Cottage is a scenic 17 mile drive south of the Big Island of Hawaii’s Hilo airport and 25 miles northeast of Volcanoes National Park. Each room has its own entrance to the lanai, which allows you to star gaze, greet the sunrise over the ocean, whale watch or take it easy with a book. Both rooms come equipped with cable TV. The shared sitting room includes a reading library, board games, puzzles. Coolers, beach chairs, and beach towels are available upon request. 2 bedroom cottage also available. 2 cats on the premises. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast served between 7:30 and 9:00 am featuring local fruits, Kona coffee, teas, juice and much more. Please specify if you have special dietary restrictions. If you want an early start for that morning hike or other activity, cereal, yogurt and beverages are available upon request. Area Attractions and Activities: The Windward side of the Big Island provides a wealth of activities, including: snorkeling in tide pools, swimming in hot ponds, exploring a petrified lava tree forest, or watching the magnificence of the lava flows.
