The Chalet Club

Lake Lure, North Carolina.

The Chalet Club is a secluded mountainside retreat, offering the opportunity to recreate in a spectacular setting and relax in the tranquility of a variety of accommodations. A B&B plan with numerous activities included - or a rate for Lodging available.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Lake Lure, North Carolina bed and breakfast: The Chalet Club

If you’re dreaming of a quiet getaway with endless recreation options, escape to our secluded mountainside resort. Spacious accommodations with spectacular views, delicious meals, and warm hospitality have been the hallmarks of The Chalet Club for over 70 years.

The Chalet, built in 1927, offers old-world charm with numerous archways, plastered walls, handhewn beams, massive oak doors and hardwood floors.

The main lodge and seven cottages of varying size have central heating and air conditioning, balconies, comfortable antique furnishings, and fireplaces that are stocked with seasoned firewood. Take just a few steps from the Chalet’s front door and you embark on a seven-mile network of hiking trails that lead to spectacular overlooks within the new Chimney Rock State Park. Two tennis courts and a platform tennis court are nestled into the mountainside above the main building.

After a short drive to the lake, guests can embark on boating, fishing and water skiing activities that are popular from the spring through the fall. Anglers enjoy fishing for bass in the lake as well as trout in the streams. Eclipsing all of these activities is our most popular pastime – the rare opportunity to do absolutely nothing in a tranquil, stress free environment.

In addition to activities packaged in the Bed and Breakfast rates, horseback riding, golf, water sports, the Biltmore Estate and Chimney Rock Park are also available nearby.

    Area Attractions and Activities:

The Chalet Club is located concentrically within a twenty mile radius of Asheville, Hendersonville, Tryon, Rutherfordton and Black Mountain. This not only makes it easy for you to get here from any direction - it makes it equally easy to visit these communities while you vacation here.

Western North Carolina is renowned for its arts and crafts, which may be viewed or purchased at numerous local galleries. The Chalet Club provides van tours on request during the spring and fall seasons. Half or full day journeys explore areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains that many visitors to the area never discover. Rivers for rafting and trout streams are in abundance in Western North Carolina. Fly fishermen can enjoy touring the area for a wide variety of stream choices.

Chimney Rock Park, the Flat Rock Playhouse, Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, the NC Arboretum and one of America's largest homes, George Vanderbilt's Biltmore House, are favorite area attractions.

    Most Popular Rooms:

The East Cottage: Has a central living room and two bedrooms with private baths. Rock fireplaces in all of the rooms give this accommodation a lovely country cottage flavor. Off of the living room is a large covered balcony with a spectacular view.

Stonehenge I: Has two bedrooms and two baths. Enter through a tiled sunporch to spacious white pine paneled rooms with spectacular views. On the east side of the house are a swimming pool and the Stonehenge II Cottage. This is a favorite for reunions.
