In the heart of the Newport, RI, historic yachting village, The Captain James Preston House is a charming and romantic B&B, authentically restored to its original 1861 charm. Exquisitely appointed in the Victorian style, the Captain James Preston House has all the comforts of home with the Victorian splendor you've dreamed about.

Boasting one of the most ideal locations, the inn is situated just one block from the yachting harbor, restaurants, shops and nightlife found on lower Thames Street, and one block from the famed mansions that line Bellevue Avenue, a short 15-minute walk to historic Cliff Walk or Easton's Beach.

The 2 bedrooms of this intimate weekend getaway are beautifully appointed with Victorian furnishings and period pieces. Sleeping accommodations consist of 2 queen rooms (1 suite). Romantic bedrooms feature private baths, A/C, cable and wireless internet. The Colcester room features a jacuzzi tub for a relaxing and exhilarating soak.

A sumptuous full breakfast is served each morning by candlelight. Lighter fare includes cereals, fruit, and home baked specialties. In addition, treat yourself to one of our delicious hot entrees including belgian waffles, omlettes, eggs benedict and more!

The inn has a sizable front porch, where you can sit and enjoy some treats from the authentic French bakery located right next door. Ample off-street parking available at the rear of the house.
