Bed and Breakfast Description

Valle Crucis, North Carolina bed and breakfast: The Baird House

The Baird House is a beautiful Valle Crucis, North Carolina Bed and Breakfast that provides you with a unique opportunity to take a step back in time and enjoy the quiet charm and ambience of country life in a beautifully restored Colonial Farmhouse. Charmingly situated on a country lane that winds along the Watauga River, it is the perfect escape to celebrate a special occasion, take in the beautiful sights and sounds of the High Country or just to spend a few days of rest and relaxation.

With its wide planked walls, original floors, multiple fireplaces and beautifully appointed antique furnishings, the inn has an abundance of history and sense of warm "Southern Hospitality". Wake up to the smell of our "legendary" breakfasts after resting in one of our seven distinctly decorated guest rooms.

Our 12 acre grounds include a rustic barn with a brick silo, spacious stone patio furnished with Adirondack chairs and cozy firepit and plenty of porches with rockers. You may also choose to sit on the rocks along the trout stocked river or lounge in a hammock under the cedars. Gabby, our yellow lab/golden retriever mix, is extremely friendly and loves to entertain our guests..
