Bed and Breakfast Description

When you step into the Kirk House you are greeted by a warm and inviting parlor. Fine craftsmanship is evident in the original woodwork, fireplace, and art glass. The historic wall color and Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper along with the many antiques make it a warm and inviting room. These historic attributes provides guests with an opportunity to enjoy the comfort and relaxation of a bygone era.

We also offer modern amenities including wireless Internet access and cable TV in each guest room. At the Kirk House we aspire to create a charming ambiance and a comfortable and caring place to spend your vacation and to escape the stresses of daily life.

Each room is uniquely decorated and includes a private bath. In addition, each room has a either a private garden or opens onto the wraparound veranda.

Nine o'clock arrives too soon, but as the aroma of a full breakfast greets you, you’ll be enticed to start your day early. We serve our own custom blend of hot coffee and our signature parfait featuring our award winning granola and a delicious hot breakfast.

We also offer an afternoon snack featuring seasonal baked goods and hot or cold beverages which can be enjoyed in the parlor, on one of the swings in the yard, or on our wraparound veranda.

Whatever your plans include during your visit, the Kirk House is your place to stay on San Juan Island.

The San Juan Islands are famous for beauty and the rare opportunity to view nature in unspoiled glory. Bald eagles nest in the tall firs, pods of orca whales surface and blow their tall plumes of spray, otters frolic along the shore and giant salmon and Dall Porpises swim the cool depths of the crystal clear water.

While visiting, you can go whale watching, kayaking, sailing, bicycling, hiking or fishing. You can also enjoy the theater, shops,galleries and restaurants of the charming downtown.Visit the historic American and English Camps or picnic on South Beach. Visit the beautiful Lavender Farm or the scenic Alpaca Farm. Sample some of our local wines at the San Juan Winery. Join us for a old fashioned 4th of July celebration featuring a parade, barbeque in the park and fireworks.

Take time to explore the island’s trails and waters year-round, or take the easy walk to town for shopping in one of the unique shops and good food in one of the island’s many excellent restaurants.
