Nestled on a hillside, the exquisite Stanford Inn sits atop a meadow overlooking Mendocino Bay. Embodying the best of the rugged Mendocino Coast, the Inn is a haven.

The lobby, guest rooms, and suites are paneled in pine and redwood. Every detail is attended to, from wood-burning fireplaces set and ready to light to the sumptuous organic breakfasts. The Raven’s restaurant is outstanding and nationally acclaimed for its vegetarian cuisine.

Guests are indulged at the Inn’s Massage in the Forest and private yoga sessions. Canoeing and kayaking on Big River, California’s new State Park.

Each Stanford Inn room or suite is an experience in itself - the ultimate in comfort, first-class amenities, views extraordinaire ... the grand Pacific Ocean, the impressive Big River, the colorful organic gardens, and the historic village of Mendocino. Includes: a custom ordered and individually prepared breakfast at Ravens', our award-winning vegetarian restaurant.

All rooms have feather beds, fireplaces, coffee makers with organic fair trade Big River Coffee, refrigerators, TV/VCR/DVD's and compact stereo systems with CD players. Telephones, data ports, voice mail and high speed Internet. Families and pets welcomed. We will supply bowls for food and water, litter bags, treat, covers to protect furniture and bedding. Area Attractions and Activities:

Canoes and Kayaks are easy on Big River's eco-system, which has been identified as a sensitive habitat and is protected by Mendocino County Ordinance. Our equipment is superior, including handmade redwood outrigger canoes, kayaks by Ocean Kayak and Current Designs.

Proper use of mountain bikes are an easy-on-the-environment way to experience old coastal trails and logging roads. We do not encourage aggressive biking in the forests - rather we encourage riders to stay on marked trails. Our bikes are gentle on you - comfort bikes by Cannondale and suspension bikes by Trek and Santa Cruz.
