Hayes Valley Inn guests enter a homey atmosphere where they can get to know other guests, as well as the owners. We have just opened our dining room (cafe) where our guests enjoy their continental breakfast of coffee, sweet rolls, bagels and cream cheese, cereal and milk, orange juice, tea and other beverages. Some guests may choose to play cards or borrow a good book to read during their visit.

Hayes Valley Inn guests now enjoy a homey common space in grand Victorian style. In addition to the Ivy Room, the new parlour provides several cozy spaces for reading, playing cards, or just visiting with friends. The turret-style room features rounded-glass windows that look out onto a fabled San Francisco street corner one story below.



Area Attractions and Activities:

Morning foghorns and seagulls weave the magic of the City as you walk to the nearby Civic Center Plaza which contains our Opera, the Symphony and Ballet, City Hall, new Asian Art Museum and architecturally acclaimed Public Library. We are close to all public transportation, making it an easy reach to Chinatown, Pacific Bell Park for sports events and Golden Gate Park with its tranquil Japanese Tea Garden. The vibrant Mission and Castro neighborhoods are a short bus ride down Market Street, Japantown is a walk up the hill. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is readily accessible. Moscone Convention Center is an easy BART subway, trolley or bus ride down Market Street.
