Bed and Breakfast Description

Step onto our sprawling verandah, through our French doors and begin an experience you won't soon forget. The oldest building in the area and a historic landmark, The Peninsula underwent extensive renovation over a two-year period and opened as an inn in November 2002. Fashioned in an elegant British Colonial decor, The Peninsula brings the exotic flare of Bali to its interior with timeless designs and classic styling of the tropics.
Village artisans of Indonesia used age-old techniques to hand-carve the traditional furniture used throughout the Inn. Each piece is made from sturdy kiln-dried mindi, a plantation-grown hardwood similar to oak. Our 11 uniquely appointed guestrooms on the second and third floors feature these authentic furnishings.

A 10-minute drive west to beautiful Gulf beaches, including Fort DeSoto, rated one of Top 5 beaches in America. A 10-minute drive east to downtown St. Petersburg for more galleries, shopping and museums. Golf, tennis, swimming, yacht available at area clubs.

"Katmandu": Spacious bedroom with a king size bed, private bath with tub & shower, lots of room for luggage & hanging clothes, high-speed Internet access & cable TV, on third floor for added privacy, overlooks front street. Perfect for an extended stay.

"Casablanca/Marrakech": Adjoining suite has one bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom with two twin beds--perfect for family of four traveling with children or in-laws. Large private bathroom with handicap-accessible shower.
