Sonoma Chalet offers cottages and B&B accommodations on three and a half very private acres. Just five minutes drive from Sonoma Plaza, this exceptional lodging includes fireplaces, garden hot tub, wooded groves and vineyards.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Nestled into the hillsides of the Sonoma Valley, but just five minutes from downtown historic Sonoma Plaza sits Sonoma Chalet Cottages and B&B Inn. Offering exceptional lodging to those craving privacy, peace and quiet, Sonoma Chalet is charming, quaint and, admittedly, a little bit quirky.

The Swiss family Reichmuth built the main “Chalet” farmhouse in 1940. Before moving to Sonoma, the Reichmuths had an interest in the old William Tell Hotel in San Francisco, which later burned down. The Sonoma property was never really run as a working farm, since the Reichmuths were always more interested in music and dance; one brother, Alfred, was an amateur painter. His work can been seen on the walls of our main house. The Reichmuths also were involved in a local Sonoma dance hall (still in operation) called "Little Switzerland."

The main farmhouse has four guest rooms. The two guest rooms downstairs share a bath and parlor in a suite arrangement. The rooms may be rented separately or together.

Each accommodation at Sonoma Chalet is unique. From antique stoves to patchwork quilts, our furnishings add character and charm to each room. Many rooms feature decks and views of the Sonoma Valley. All our rooms have private baths except two of the four rooms in the main house, which share one bath and a parlor.

Sara's Cottage: This private little gem sits up on the hillside at the rear of the property. With a wonderful front porch and surrounded by 100' eucalyptus trees, it's very private and totally charming.

Laura's Cottage: Nestled in the shade of an ancient eucalyptus tree, this cottage sits beside the farmhouse, and near the hot tub.
