Earl Grey B&B

Salisbury, Connecticut.

1850s era house with barn on a quiet, private hill, in and overlooking Salisbury village center. Two spacious rooms to choose from and a memorable full breakfast.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Salisbury, Connecticut bed and breakfast: Earl Grey B&B

Although the house, built ca. 1850, is situated above and behind Main Street in the heart of the village of Salisbury, its unique location on one and and a half acres with a barn, extensive gardens and huge old trees, makes it very private.

It is quiet and romantic with wonderful views of Salisbury and the Litchfield hills beyond, yet within minutes to shops, restaurants and the Village library; near swimming and hiking, as well as cycling or skiing and not far from the music festivals at Music Mountain, Norfolk and Tanglewood. Good theater and museums are also nearby.

There are two spacious rooms to choose from: The Chittenden and the Earl Grey, both with queen size beds and full baths en suite. The Chittenden has a four poster bed, fireplace and its own garden terrace; The Earl Grey features an 1850 sleigh bed and a view overlooking the village. Both rooms contain many books, and original works of art and antiques.

Our sensational breakfasts, often garnished with edible flowers, include French toast with slivered almonds and apricot sauce or apple pancakes. Fresh fruit, homemade muffins and breads. Served on 6-foot-long antique marble table by the fireplace in the dining room, or on the porch.
