Northern California's most photographed inn, the Gingerbread Mansion Inn is a spectacular example of Victorian splendor. The exterior boasts spindlework, turrets, gables and formal English gardens. The inn offers four parlors and eleven romantic guestrooms, all decorated with antiques.

Guests are pampered with luxuriously appointed baths, his-and-her clawfoot tubs, fireplaces, bathrobes, turndown service, morning coffee and a delicious full breakfast. Many of the rooms have plush floral Victorian carpet, rich Victorian wallpaper, and Egyptian cotton bed linens . Each room has a HD flat panel TV, Lane recliner, in room coffee service, plush robes and wireless internet.

The Gingerbread Mansion Inn is a recipient of many major hospitality awards and recognitions, including Conde Naste Johansen's 2008 "Most Excellent Inn" award and a Four Diamond rating by AAA for 12 consecutive years.

Our grandest guestroom, the Empire Suite, offers all of this and more: King-size bed, a large bathing area with a marble and glass shower and a clawfooted tub in front of a fireplace. A sitting area with fireplace and dining area (for breakfast served in room) complete the other side of the suite. We consider Empire Suite to be Northern California's most opulent room!

Within a short drive...Centerville Beach: From Brown Street, turn left on Main Street, continue one block to Ocean. Turn right on Ocean and follow 5 miles to beach. Redwoods & Rivers: Offering unique river experiences on some of the worlds most beautiful rivers.

And beyond...Avenue of the Giants: Just a slight detour off Hwy 101, Avenue of the Giants gets you up close and personal with the majestic redwoods of Humboldt County. The road is a special treat in a convertible or on a motorcycle. "Lost Coast Loop": a scenic drive to Petrolia, along the coast, and into the redwoods along Hwy 101. Allow 2 hours minimum for trip, longer for stops along the ocean and redwoods. Picnic lunch and full tank of gas recommended. Ask staff for complete directions (and recommendations for picnic lunch). The Empire Suite: Victorian stained glass doors, which open to a draped king bed and Greek columns. Large bathing area with a marble shower and over-sized clawfoot bath are warmed by a fireplace. A full living and breakfast area with second fireplace.

Trompe L'Oeil artist Peri Pfenninger created a renaissance masterpiece, painting walls and the ceiling with scenes of green hills and flourishing plains, that's the Veneto. Marble floors, faux finish stone. Classic elegance. King bed and clawfoot tub.
