Blair Sugar Pine B&B

Placerville, California.

A unique turreted 1901 Queen Anne Victorian bed and breakfast located in historic downtown Placerville, featuring hillside gardens, original woodwork and a history of romance. Walk to shops, restaurants and more.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Placerville, California bed and breakfast: Blair Sugar Pine B&B

The James B. Blair House was built by James for his wife Erla the year they were married. The look and feel of the house remains much as it was in those bygone, early days of California. With a clinker brick fireplace and original oak flooring, this home invites you to relax, reflect and return to a quieter, gentler time.

Each of the 3 bedrooms is decorated in a different theme. All have queen size beds, private baths, luxurious robes, clock radios, down comforters (winter only) and a tin of chocolates on the bed at arrival. Enjoy early morning coffee, tea or hot chocolate in the sunroom while you plan your day, and wait for your lavish breakfast to be served, complete with candles, china, crystal and fresh flowers in the dining room.

After breakfast, sit on the porch and read or watch the world rush by, or take a short stroll to downtown and visit the many shops, antique stores, museum or art galleries.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Placerville is located just 60 miles from Lake Tahoe and skiing, gambling, boating and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. For a short drive of less than 20 minutes, you can visit award-winning wineries, the farms and orchards of Apple Hill, Gold Bug Park and Mine, and Coloma, site of Sutter's Mill, where gold was discovered. Sacramento, the state capital, is an easy drive from the inn.

Services:

Book & video libraries, WiFi, central A/C, feather beds, private baths, sitting room, chocolates

Most Popular Rooms:

The Blair Room: So named because it was the original owner's bedroom. A large brass bed set in the turret surrounded by a canopy of tulle & a bathroom with an old fashion clawfoot tub make this suite ideal for a romantic getaway or wedding night.

With its canopy bed, whimsical garden decor, soft green walls and views of the gardens, The Garden Room is a peaceful oasis to sit and relax after a long and busy day.
