Bed and Breakfast Description

Built before the Civil War, we have 17 rooms, fireplaces, spacious grounds and patios, and gently swinging beds. The Grandmother of bed and breakfasts in the West, Sutter Creek Inn has an eclectic style and a relaxed atmosphere that appeals to travelers.
The Inn provides all the comforts of home -
private baths, cooling air conditioners and delicious breakfasts. Many rooms have charming private patios or romantic fireplaces.
Known for quiet and peaceful, manicured gardens, the Inn provides many private alcoves and patios. Share a glass of wine under wisteria covered branches or take a snooze in a hammock under graceful shade trees.
Relax with other guests in the Inn's inviting living room. Share tales of the days explorations - gold mines, scrumptious dining, a great day of shopping or just cozy up and relax with your nose in a book.
Area Attractions and Activities:
Sutter Creek is located between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe on Highway 49 in the middle of the historic Gold Country. The town is filled with quaint shops and fine restaurants... all within easy walking distance of the Sutter Creek Inn.
Gold Country (also known as the Mother Lode) is in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The mild climate, above the fog (at 1,200') but below the snow, makes the area pleasant year 'round. Sutter Creek and nearby Drytown are brimming with antique, specialty shops and fine restaurants.
The area is also home to two public 18 hole golf courses.
Trout and bass fishing are as close as ten minutes away.
Skiers will relish the realization that Kirkwood, Bear Valley and Heavenly are all within an easy commute.
Bring the bikes and ride the country roads through gentle hills or go for long walks among the shaded oaks. Want a challenge to work out the "city kinks"? Visit the nearby California Caverns.
