Wake to the sound of rain forest birds in our spacious home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Get away from it all in a quiet, relaxed setting. Enjoy walking through our grounds which include palm, bamboo, fruit, and native Ohia trees with hundreds of flowers.

Bed and Breakfast Description

We are conveniently located 15 miles from Hilo and 25 miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Some of the local attractions include waterfalls, botanical gardens, zoo, hiking trails, hot ponds, Lava Tree State Park, and snorkeling, swimming and
surfing at black sand beaches.

With vaulted ceilings and plenty of windows the space is bright and airy. The house is decorated with high quality art and blooming orchids. The common areas feature our new hot tub, waterfall and pond in a courtyard enclosed with a Hawaiian-style lava rock wall. There is a large living room with game table and lots of games, library, Hawaii guide books, phone, beach equipment and towels, and WiFi with high speed internet. There is a screened-in balcony and a breakfast nook which overlooks the front yard, as well as a gazebo. Kitchenette and washer/dryer are available for guest use. Each or our three rooms has a private bath, satellite TV/DVD.

Enjoy our diverse collection of original artwork and perhaps make some yourself! On the lower level we have a workshop and studio space for guest use. Art supplies, equipment, and classes are available.

Breakfast includes local and home grown fruit, our own macadamia nut granola, ham, hard-boiled eggs from our free range chickens, homemade muffins, Hawaiian honey and jam, smoothies, juice, tea and coffee grown in our back yard! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Area Attractions and Activities:

A daily paper and tourist information are available to guests. We keep a bulletin board listing Big Island events in the common area. These include concerts, art openings, movies, plays, classes, parades, hula, food fairs, craft sales and farmers markets, as well as other activities our guests may be interested in. We will be happy to help plan your itinerary. Local tours of lava tubes, secluded beaches and waterfalls can be arranged.

Most Popular Rooms:

Garden Room: Large ground floor room with king bed, double futon, single futon, ceiling fan, Jacuzzi tub backed by large mosaic of turtles, satellite tv/dvd, private entrance, hand-carved dresser and desk, large bouquet of tropical flowers, robes.

The Rainbow Room: Features a California king bed, private bath, ceiling fan, reading lights, robes, balcony overlooking pond, walk-in closet, reading area with wood slab table and several chairs.

Check In Instructions:

We personally greet all of our guests. Normal check-in time is 3 to 6 pm. If you need to arrive some other time please call ahead to make arrangements.
