 Charming and well appointed, all of our rooms are designed with the traveling professional in mind. Each offers a private bath, hairdryer, cable television and VCR, alarm clock/radio, telephone, high speed Internet access and wireless access, a fully stocked desk or writing table, ample lighting, a deep armchair, a roomy, comfortable bed, and soft luxurious linens. All guestrooms are also comfortably climate controlled for all seasons (individually controlled air conditioners in the warmer months and central heating for colder weather). After awakening to delicious aromas each morning, guests are greeted in the dining room with a smile and a sumptuous buffet prepared by the Innkeeper who is an award-winning cook. All of the Inn's common areas offer a relaxing atmosphere and perhaps a chance to interact with other guests as well as with your hosts. The cozy den, with fireplace, is where guests will find a library of reading materials, movies, and board games as well as computer with Internet access. The expansive, airy living room features a Williamsburg fireplace and comfortable seating arrangements. Area Attractions and Activities: Adjacent to the Bates College campus, the Inn is within a short walk to all campus activities and buildings, including the Olin Arts Center, which houses the Bates College Museum of Art. Also close by are both area medical centers as well as the downtown business, legal and government district. Within a short drive: Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary, Lost Valley Ski and mountain biking area, several golf courses, live local theatre, festivals, live music, art exhibits, fine food and beverages, water sports.
