 The Gryphon House was built in 1895 as a single family home. The interior is graced by a majestic curved stairway leading from the lobby to the fourth floor. The large hunter green parlor is set off by gilded moldings, mirrors, and faux marble columns which complements the original golden onyx fireplace. Authentic Zuber wallpaper murals cover the walls of the main lobby and wind up the stairs and across the second floor common area. Each of our eight spacious suites is keyed to a decorating theme, and offers unique touches such as stained glass or silk lampshades, antiques, or hand painted murals. All suites have a wet bar with refrigerator and custom built cabinetry with granite countertops. Each large private bath features oversized Kohler tubs and showers. In room, you'll find coffeemakers and teapots, phones, entertainment centers,high speed internet service, and plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Comfort, beauty, and hospitality are our watchwords. Area Attractions and Activities: Being located in the heart of Boston, just about everything you could want is at your fingertips. From museums to skiing, and theaters to whale watching - all are located nearby. Services: Video & CD library, high speed Internet station in lobby, cable TV Most Popular Rooms: North Tower: Our largest suite with a great view overlooking the Charles River has a Far East & nautical flavor. It has an offset sleeping area, a very large living area with fireplace, and oversized tiled bathroom with glass enclosed shower and deep tub. Morningside: A large,sunny suite with ornate white woodwork,light yellow walls and a black marble fireplace. It has an offset sleeping area, a large sitting area, and an offset kitchen/dressing area. It has a tiled bath with separate tub and shower. Check In Instructions: If guests check in after 11pm, we need them to call ahead and let us arrange entry for them. |
