![]() The inn's rooms, suites, and carriage house appeal to business and leisure needs, with choices ranging from fireplaces to fax machines. Owner Dale Northrup has been critiquing hotels in more than 70 countries over 20 years. He brings to the rooms and public areas details that are often overlooked. From more than 400 CDs and movie titles to choose from in the parlor to the fine collection of rare and readable books, the inn offers amenities to make a stay complete. Cut a slice of sour cream cake from the breakfast room or make hot chocolate in the second pantry. You might peruse one of the innkeeper's travel guides (he's written 20 consumer books, too). All rooms feature phones and fax machines, CD players, TVs and VCRs, wet bars and refrigerators with complimentary soft drinks, private baths, weather radios, climate control, umbrellas, hairdryers, beach coolers and bags stocked with special beach towels and blankets, and more. 2004 Editor's Choice, State of Maine.
