Ghost Rails Inn
Alberton, Montana.
This Alberton, Montana B&B has 9 pretty rooms with private baths. An easy day's drive from Seattle, just off I-90, a great place for small reunions. The area is known for Milwaukee Railroad history, whitewater rafting, fly fishing and Hiawatha Bike Trail.
Bed and Breakfast Description

Under new ownership and now open year 'round, we are located 30 miles west of Missoula, just off I-90, small-town Alberton doesn't even have a stoplight. Guests tell us that staying at the Ghost Rails Inn is reminiscent of a visit to Grandma's house.
This historic railroad hotel, built in 1909, has been brought into the 21st century with 10 pretty rooms, private baths, and wireless Internet. We specialize in quilt retreats from mid-Autumn to mid-spring.
A delicious hot breakfast and home-made quilts make for a memorable lodging experience. And it's an easy 1 day drive from Seattle, Yellowstone and Billings. You can book rooms directly from our web site.
Barely half a mile away, the Clark Fork River provides great fishing, and the Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork offers some of Montana's best whitewater for rafting and kayaking. We can book trips for you.
Little Alberton boasts the intriguing Montana Valley Bookstore, The Antique Depot, an espresso shop, a historical museum and a railroad museum.
Across the street from the Inn is the lush, green town park, with tennis courts and picnic tables. Adjacent is the old Milwaukee Railroad Depot, now the Senior Center. It has a full kitchen and indoor seating for at least 50. The new outdoor pavilion, with mountains as a backdrop, makes a fine bandstand or wedding gazebo. This is a great place for parties and receptions.
Stay at the Ghost Rails Inn when you bike the "Route of the Hiawatha," along the abandoned railroad bed.
