Bed and Breakfast Description

Cameron House is a historic accommodation built in 1919. All six rooms are uniquely decorated in the Arts and Crafts style that is a part of the laid-back island charm of the North Carolina Outer Banks. Relax in a rocking chair by the outdoor fireplace and let the quaint, peaceful spirit of small–town Manteo carry you back to a simpler time.

Guest rooms feature new furnishings and Oriental carpets, beautiful original lighting, Internet hookups, a guest-controlled voice mail phone system and CD players. Some offer desks for business travelers, soaker tubs, fireplaces and sitting areas.

Our inn is in the heart of the village of Manteo on Roanoke Island, just a block from shopping, attractions and restaurants. We provide bikes for touring the island and guides to make your adventuring easy.

Cameron House is the site for retreats throughout the year, and is available to be rented for your own events such as weddings, family reunions or business meetings. We also offer event planning services.

The Avocet: Envelops you with its beautiful, deep red walls and rich Oriental carpet. Furnishings are Mission style, with dark wicker added in. The bathroom is huge and offers a two-person soaking tub and historic light fixtures from an old local hotel.

The Featherstone: A great cool-weather room with its fireplace and warm, deep green walls. A stocked bookshelf, huge tiled bathroom and original Mission rocker all welcome.
