![]() Our house and gardens were designed and built to be shared, with comfort and privacy in mind. The separate guest wing affords oceanviews across a tidal pond filled with local fish, colorful koi, ducks, and the occasional wild heron. If you need to plug in your lap top and answer your email or check in with clients by phone, you can do so by private phone in a tropical style room with a view. Our guests share the main entry, and have access to a Common Room and spacious gardens for relaxing and visiting. Our guest bedrooms are located in a separate guest wing, which has an additional outside entry. The Bamboo Room (with sliding doors to a private patio), the Coconut Palm Room with extra single bed, and the Lagoon Room all overlook our tidal pond and the ocean beyond. Each room has a king size bed, a private bath, cable TV with VCR, ceiling fan, small refrigerator, snorkeling gear, beach towels with beach bag, a cooler for picnics, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, and other useful items. Boogey boards and air mattresses (for floating and relaxing in the cold ponds across the street) are currently available. The tropical garden has places to relax and enjoy the seaside atmosphere. Talk story, play fetch a coconut with the dog, and watch people, boats, whales and dolphins. Area Attractions and Activities: We are located in the Leleiwi neighborhood beach community, which is home to numerous and diverse beach parks within one mile of shoreline. Our guests can walk to snorkel at Richardsons Beach Park with its black sand beach entry & colorful fish. We are four miles from the airport and historic Downtown Hilo. Hilo's bayfront bustles with activities such as the Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, wonderful one-of-a-kind restaurants and shops, the Lyman Museum, the Tsunami Museum, Liliokulani Park, Coconut island, and afternoon practice and races by the many outrigger canoe clubs. See an active volcano erupting at Hawaii Volcano National Park- 28 miles away. Visit world class Hawaii Botanical Garden- 7 miles away on the Old Scenic Highway in Onomea. Stop in at Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls on your way to quaint Honokaa Town and a tour Waipio Valley. Soak in a geothermally heated tidal ponds in nearby Puna.
