An elegant 1803 Federal period bed and breakfast Inn located downtown, just a block from the harbor and two blocks from Bellevue Avenue. All rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Bed and Breakfast Description

All of our guestrooms have been uniquely decorated. We offer rooms with four poster, canopy, and sleigh beds. Each guestroom has either a queen bed or two twin beds and all rooms have private bathrooms. The house is air conditioned in the summer months.

Enjoy a delicious, gourmet breakfast each morning in the parlor or back patio. Specialties of the house include Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast, Coddled Eggs, Swiss Cheese Pie, Belgian Waffles, and Baked Stuffed French Toast. We also serve Newport Coffee Traders Gourmet Coffee, fresh fruit, homebaked bread and a variety of juices daily. Afternoon refreshments are served each day in the parlor.

Most Popular Rooms:

Ida Lewis Room: A romantic room with queen four poster mahogany bed. Guests love to relax on the private deck with a cup of coffee in the morning or for cocktails in the evening before dining at one of Newport's wonderful restaurants.

The Durfee Room: Empire-style, ornately carved four poster queen size bedstead. Classic dark mahogany furnishings and detailed period paneling take you back to an era of luxurious living. Private bathroom with shower is appointed with a vanity area.

Check In Instructions:

All guests arriving must call (401-847-1652) or email Innkeeper ahead of time to arrange check-in time. Innkeepers request a one to two hour window so they can be available to you.
