The stories and legends abound in this quiet, yet popular town for a myriad of reasons. Among skyscrapers, busy highways and traffic jams, Jefferson remains an oasis for the weary traveler seeking solace for the soul and peace of the spirit.

A stroll along the brick streets or standing along the banks of the Big Cypress River speaks volumes while one has only to be still and hear the whispers of its past while the present remains. We invite you to enter a place long ago, but not forgotten, where the living is easy and the era was golden.

The Carriage House was built in 1920 and still maintains many of it's original furniture. Recently renovated and restored, the Carriage House has seven beautifully themed rooms. There is a room for every taste. Two of our rooms are located in the main house and five are located in the carriage house.

We offer a three course gourmet breakfast on weekends and a continental breakfast on weekdays. Some of our specialties are Spicy Eggs Benedict and Very Berry French Toast.

There are many fun, exciting and romantic things to do in Jefferson. Jefferson is an old historic riverport town full of beautiful southern antebellum homes many of which are available for touring.

Jefferson is surrounded by water and many different types of boat tours are available. Many of our guest enjoy taking the Turning Basin Bayou Tour and exploring the Big Cypress Bayou. Caddo Lake is more of a spanish moss draped cypress swamp than a lake. There are many different types of tours including a Steamboat tour and a paddle wheel boat tour. Caddo Lake is perfect for the avid photographer or the nature watcher.

Jefferson is noted as the most haunted small town in Texas and is filled with many friendly spirits. Any visitor to Jefferson can take part in walking ghost tours, ghost trains or tours of a real live haunted house. Being an old historic town, Jefferson is full of wonderful antique stores and historic museums. You could spend days in Jefferson and not see it all!

Most Popular Rooms:

The Diamond Bessie room is a beautiful scarlet and gold colored room with a King bed and an Amish Fireplace for comfort. The Diamond Bessie is located off of the Garden Courtyard in the carriage house. Like all our rooms, it has a private bathroom.

The Ruth Lester room is perfect for a family or a group traveling together. It features 2 full size beds and is located off of the Garden Courtyard. It has an oversized private bath with a shower and a claw foot tub.
