Bed and Breakfast Description

The Hickory House Inn is located in the historical St. Paul's Parrish house. It was built in 1902 by local tradesman in a French Federalist style. As you walk through the wrought iron fence, up the garden pathway by the wonderful restored fountain, you are taken back in time to another era. The wonderful porch, with its great white columns and wrought iron furniture, reminds you of elegant days watching the world go by.

As you enter the tiled entryway, the first room you come to is the restful library with its leather furniture and massive oak mantel surrounding the fireplace - a good place to read a book on a winter day. On the opposite side is the formal living room with Victorian style furniture and gas fireplace.

The home has its original oak and maple floors. The formal dining room is a wonderful site to behold, with its restful blue walls and Indian tapestry rugs; looks out into the garden area and another fountain.

There are three rooms upstairs. They are each suites that include two bedrooms and a bathroom. Each suite can sleep up to four people. The Janie J. room downstairs is handicap accessible, and includes a queen size bed and bathroom with a shower. The Sister Gilmary room also downstairs has two full size beds and a bathroom with a shower. The entire house can be rented for weddings, family reunions, or groups wishing to stay in one place. The Inn sleeps up to twenty people.

Hickory House is located halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park, in the area of Lewis and Clark's historic trail.

We are conveniently situated near the famous "Old Works" golf course, wilderness trails for hiking and backpacking,'Discovery' ski area and fabulous fishing waters including Georgetown Lake, Clark's Fork and Big Hole Rivers as well as numerous other memorable streams and mountain lakes.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Pintler room: Has a great view looking out to the Pintler Mountains. It has a king size bed decorated in soft floral burgundy. It has a sitting room with desk, TV to relax by on a quiet evening. The bathroom is very large with tub and shower.

The Garden Room: Our romantic favorite. It features wicker furnishings, a queen bed and a great view of the mountains. It has a fireplace for cool evenings, a second bedroom, and the bathroom has a shower.
