Since 1988 discerning travelers have been seeking out this grand 1905 English Tudor for both business and pleasure. Harriette Thomas, Rochester's premier interior designer for many years, worked here for months carefully choosing the decor that guests fall in love with.
Our raved-about breakfasts were written up in the New York Times as one of the 10 best B&B breakfasts in America!
The fireplace,cozy window seats,beamed ceilings and Arts & Crafts pocket doors at Dartmouth House create an elegant and luxurious atmosphere,where peace and quiet reign supreme. Family antiques and collectibles (such as Wallace Nutting and Maxfield Parish) have been tastefully positioned throughout.
For our guests' convenience, we have: WiFi throughout; off-street parking; computer,printer,copier,FAX machine; refrigerator,microwave; picnic basket with essentials; MW popcorn to accompany complimentary movies.
Our grand piano is tuned twice yearly to 440A and we love to have guests play it. Likewise, our electronic organ on the upstairs landing is ready for you to put on the headphones and enjoy.
Dartmouth House is conveniently located in the heart of the historic and cultural Park Avenue/East Avenue district, near the George Eastman Mansion and minutes to RIT, UofR, Kodak, and downtown.This is a quiet neighborhood that all ages of people enjoy strolling/walking/jogging through on their way to cafes,boutiques,book sellers,restaurants,shops,museums.
