Lava Tree Tropic Inn

Pahoa, Hawaii.

Just 25 miles south of Hilo, in the lush Puna district of the Big Island of Hawaii, this tranquil haven is nestled in the heart of a magical rainforest, fragrant with scents of ginger, plumeria, and passionflower. The temperature is balmy year round.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Pahoa, Hawaii bed and breakfast: Lava Tree Tropic Inn

Imagine yourself floating in a volcanic hot pond next to the ocean, surrounded by swaying palm trees, watching aquamarine waves breaking on nearby rocks.

Or stroll through neighboring Lava Tree State Park amongst regal monkey-pod trees, and marvel at the storybook Ohia tree stumps, covered in lava over two centuries ago.

The newly renovated Lava Tree Tropic Inn has a wrap-around lanai (verandah) with three separate sitting areas where you can enjoy your morning coffee, relax with a good book, or just sit and take pleasure in the view.

Our delicious continental breakfast includes fresh homemade bread and jam, tropical fruits, juice, and fresh-brewed coffee or tea. A special European snack is available in the afternoon.

Guests enjoy the comfort of a charming living room, TV room with VCR, DVD and an office with telephone, fax, and internet access.

A special meditation room is also available for relaxation, yoga, small group seminars, and receptions.

Guests are welcome to pick and process their own macadamia nuts from the orchard.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Though delightfully secluded, the Lava Tree Tropic Inn is also close to waterfalls, orchid farms, botanical gardens, black sand beaches, natural sauna steam caves, and of course, the breathtaking lava flow from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Dining is available just 3 miles away in Pahoa, a quaint little town with several restaurants and a health food store.
