King George Inn and Spa
Cobourg, Ontario.
Welcome to our Elegant Inn, Wellness Spa & Conference and Banquet Centre on the harbour in the picturesque town of Cobourg,Ontario. Situated on Lake Ontario, sixty miles east of Toronto.
Bed and Breakfast Description

Many of the rooms in the King George Inn reflect local history and the former of the building: the Warden's Keep, The Privileged Prisoner, Cobourg Station, Devils Island and Albert's Library. Each is individually furnished and decorated. Enjoy your stay!
77 Albert Street, Cobourg, was formerly the Provincial Jail. The Building was constructed in 1906 but has had many additions and improvements made since that time. The Front of the building originally was the Governors Mansion complete with maids quarters on the third floor. Over the years this building evolved into the Jail's administrative office. This is now the restaurant on the ground floor and exquisite bedrooms on the second floor. All guests have access to high speed Internet and many rooms are also equipped with wi-fi wireless internet access. The third floor is also being re-developed as more bedrooms and suites. The west buildings are the former Jail Cells, much changed we might add. This is surely the most luxurious Jail in the World.
Throughout the buildings we have tried to retain much of their original character. More rooms are being added in both wings also and eventually the Inn will grow to approximately 80 rooms & suites.
Recently a full service spa has been added "The Heaven on Earth Spa & Wellness Centre" which is a few steps from the Inn.
