Bed and Breakfast Description

Marion, Indiana bed and breakfast: Burke Place B&B

The property was an original purchase by Martin Boots from the government by Land Title. The house was built in 1898. Slight remodeling and changes have been made over the years.

The lawn was professionally landscaped in the mid 1950's. Over the years, considerable time and effort has been spent to maintain the grounds. The antique wrought iron fence that surrounds the property is quite a valued asset.

The living room was designed with mahogany and oak woodwork. The rest of the home is finished with oak and pine. The beamed ceiling and traditional chandelier in the dining room provides an elegant but relaxed atmosphere for a leisurely breakfast.

Guest enjoy the enclosed side porch and covered open porch overlooking an ornamental pond and many beautiful flowers as they sip an early morning coffee or a relaxing afternoon cup of tea.

Guests enter the house through a vestibule into the main foyer lighted by a glass and brass chandelier. An antique guest register stand sits in front of the beautiful Arts-and-Craft staircase which leads to the second floor guest room area.

The living room features a gas fireplace flanked on each side by built-in glass-doored bookcases. A grand piano enhances the formal but relaxed sitting area. A large bay window looks to the south towards the famous Wilson-Vaughn Hostess House.

The dining room is comfortably decorated, hosting displays of various collectables. Drinks and snacks are available at times for our guests enjoyment.
