Elysian Guest House is located only five short blocks to the French Quarter. New Orleans blocks are short, not like large city blocks. The Mighty Mississippi is also five blocks. House was built in the 1840s and is a Victoria Shotgun style home.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Come stay at the Elysian and get more out of your visit to New Orleans. We have five units that can sleep up 18 people. We have two rooms that sleep up to three people each. And we have three suites that sleep up to four people each. One suite even has a full kitchen and is fully equipped. We have a supermarket right across the street and a Walgreen's half a block. Each accommodation provides you with a private entrance.

With enough advance notice we can reserve the entire house for your special events. We welcome small pets too. We have a 10 person hot tub that is great after a day and night out in the French Quarter partying.

The Elysian Guest House is under new ownership and has absolutely no experience in running a bed & breakfast. You can take advantage of that, or teach him a few things. This was said with a whole lot of pun intended.

Area Attractions and Activities:

New Orleans is really a special town for folks of all ages. Yeah, you might focus on the French Quarter on your first and second day, but you gotta get out and see more attractions.

One can take a ferry ride across the Mississippi, for free, and go to Algiers – where you can visit Mardi Gras World. Did you know that any TV or radio station’s call letters on the east side of the Mississippi River starts with a “W” like WXYZ? And on the west side, they start with a “K” like KXYZ. Did you know that? So take the ferry and you can say “I’ve been on the West of the Mississippi” or the other way around.

Walk down Royal Street and read a sign that says “In 1766 Nothing Happened On This Very Spot.”

Most Popular Rooms:

The Porch Sutie is our personal favorite. This has a piano and is within the compound in that you would access it through the common gate and walk up a small flight of stairs and you are on the porch. The porch has a two person swing. Sleeps up to four.

The Garden Suite is located in the rear of the house and is quite lovely. This suite has a full kitchen, nice for those extented visits to New Orleans. The suite also has a piano, two TVs.
