Bed and Breakfast Description

Tacoma, Washington bed and breakfast: Chinaberry Hill

Featured in Sunset Magazine, Amazing Getaways and Best Places to Kiss NW, this 1889 Grand Victorian Inn is the perfect urban hideaway. Surrounded by 100+ yr. old trees, cascading greenery and captivating views of the Sound, this remarkable garden retreat is just a few blocks from downtown shops and theatres, Antique Row and waterfront dining.

A popular choice for those seeking relaxation and romance, the inn offers bay views, fireplaces, ensuite Jacuzzi tubs for two -- and lots of privacy. Each room is an upscale mix of antiques, rich colors and original art. Keying off of recent trends in design, the innkeepers have incorporated Feng Shui principles (the placement of objects to align/maximize energy flow) throughout. The result? Victorian opulence without the clutter – and a fun place to recharge your batteries!

With "Hearty breakfasts & serious coffee" as the inn’s byline, Chinaberry Hill has gained a loyal following. Breakfasts are multi-course events - fresh strawberries and blueberries in a tart lemon sauce, mexican quiche with mango-peach salsa and garlic potatoes is a regular menu offering. Fresh fruit in a cinnamon sauce with vanilla bean yogurt, blueberry pancakes, egg scrambles with cheese, diced red peppers and green onions, and pepper-crust bacon is another favorite.

Relax on the wraparound porch w/a cup of coffee and watch the cargo ships go by... Be sure to check out the inn's main web site for more photos/information.
