The Hambleton Inn has all the expected amenities of any first class Inn, but it has its own distinctive character, as well ... as individual as each of its guest chambers.

There is the feeling of another era: Chandeliers, brasswork, oriental carpets, finely tooled furnishings, paintings, etchings, prints, and the finest collection of cookbooks along Chesapeake Bay ... all reflections of the fortunes and treasures brought home from foreign ports, and from lifetimes at sea. There is even an upper floor porch providing a clear view of boats on the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay, and the lighthouse of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

But it's not the 18th Century architecture, nor the fine attention to the period furnishings of each guest room that makes the Hambleton Inn distinctive. There is something more ... the atmosphere: The warm welcome on arrival, the hot gourmet breakfast each morning, the complimentary sherry and port wine in the afternoons: the very real feeling that every visitor is a personal guest.
