Shore Path Cottage

Bar Harbor, Maine.

The Shore Path Cottage, a lovely, graciously aged house serving as a charming downeast Bed & Breakfast, on the ocean, just a short walk into town via the famous Shore Path. A quiet in-town location, large rooms, private baths. A full breakfast is served.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Bar Harbor, Maine bed and breakfast: Shore Path Cottage

Located on a quiet street, but just minutes away from all the action, the Shore Path Cottage has a charming interior that features large, sunny rooms with private bath, fireplaces, beautiful architectural details and books everywhere.

In our vegetarian kitchen, most of our breakfast ingredients are organic. We are happy and able to accommodate the following dietary needs: kosher, lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan and macrobiotic.

The cottage, typical of downeast Maine is an understatement, and a beautiful example of Maine Coast architecture. Situated on the ocean, at the end of a quiet, tree- lined street and just minutes from town by foot, has a highly desirable location which allows you to park your car in the circular driveway and forget about battling the summer traffic and still enjoy all that Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park have to offer.

Shore Path Cottage is the ideal and restful "home port" for your adventures on Mount Desert Island.

Area Attractions and Activities:

By day, Mt. Desert Island with its proximity to the incredible world-famous Acadia National Park, offers a range of activities that include hiking the trails, biking, boating, golfing, swimming at Sand Beach or at the many lakes, whale watching, deep sea fishing, and kayaking.

Sail with a naturalist to an outlying island for a walking tour of flora, fauna and some fascinating history, meet with a park ranger for an astronomical look at the night sky, or awake before the crack of dawn, and from the pink granite of Cadillac Mountain be the first in the U.S. to watch the sunrise.

Bar Harbor has excellent restaurants, shops, concerts, museums and interesting seasonal events, such as music, art and film festivals.

Mt. Desert Island and the area referred to as "Downeast" is where the trees outnumber the people and the night sky is brighter with stars than city lights. Famous for its clean air, clean water and its natural beauty.
