Bed and Breakfast Description

The Green Heron Inn was built in the early 1900's as a boarding house that provides shelter and breakfast for weary travelers.

Its location, which combines the beautiful surrounding of the Kennebunk River and the convenience of its proximity to all major Kennebunkport attractions, contributed to its popularity from its early days. That tradition continues today.

Our sumptuous breakfasts have earned us the reputation as the best place for breakfast in town. In the afternoon, enjoy our homemade sweets and cookies and complimentary tea and coffee.

Kennebunkport is one of Maine's most picturesque coastal villages. There are varied recreational opportunities in this historic seafaring town and its environs. You'll find miles of sandy beach, wildlife sanctuaries, boating of all kinds, saltwater fishing, and scenic golf courses.

Indoor amusements include live theatres, museums, antique shops galore, and restaurants to suit every taste and budget.

Touring nearby Portland is a popular visitor activities in the area. Shopping destinations include Kittery and Freeport, as well as the abundance of stores in the Kennebunkport areas.

Most Popular Rooms:

Shannon Cottage: It consists of two bedrooms, upstairs and downstairs, each with its own bathroom and separate entrance. Both rooms have water view of the estuarine cove. There is a kitchenette in the downstairs room.

Portland Head Room: A bright and private corner room. A sunny, private oasis with all the comfort and convenience of home. The spacious sitting area offers a place to relax, and the plush queen size bed is sure to provide a restful night's sleep.

Reservation Notes:

Room and Rate Information: * All guestrooms have private bath, air conditioning and color TV. * A 3-course gourmet breakfast and afternoon refreshments are included in the room rate. * Room rates quoted are for up to two people in the room. The rate for the cottage is for three people. * A fifteen dollar per night discount will be applied for an extended stay of seven nights or more. * All rates are subject to 7% Maine State room tax. * Add $40.00 per day for each additional person 10 years and over. * Add $30.00 per day for persons under 10 years. * Pet surcharge of $15 per pet per night. * No charge for children under one year of age. * Crib and Cot are available on request. Arrival and Checkout * Check in time is 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Please make arrangements in advance for late arrival. * Check out time is 11:00 a.m. Deposit - Refund - Payment Policies * Deposit of 1/3 of the total amount, or one night's stay, whichever is greater, must be received within 10 days of date reservation is made. * Confirmation of reservation is made upon receipt of the deposit. * A nonpayment of deposit will result in cancellation without notice. * If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your reservation, we will gladly refund your deposit, less a $35 cancellation fee, as long as receive notice at least 14 days prior to your arrival. If a last minute cancellation is necessary, we will refund your deposit, less a $35 cancellation fee, as long as we are able to rent your room(s) to another party for the length of your original reservation. * The balance is due on the day of arrival. * Master Card, Visa, Cash, travelers' checks, personal checks and money orders are accepted. Additional Information * Telephone reservations should be made between 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m. * A two-night minimum stay for most weekends is required. Three night stay for Shannon Cottage and holiday weekends. * For the comfort and courtesy of guests, pets are allowed in specified rooms and only with prior approval. Guests are responsible for the conduct of, and damage done by pets. Pets are not allowed in public areas nor are they to be left alone in room. There is a pet surcharge of $15 per pet per night. Please limit the number of pets to a maximum of 2. * For the comfort and safety of our guests, the Green Heron Inn is completely SMOKE FREE. A $200 cleaning fee may be added to room charges should this policy be ignored.
