Blue Hill, Maine bed and breakfast: Captain Isaac Merrill Inn
Built in the beautiful Federal style in 1828, the Inn was the home of Captain Isaac Merrill, a Sea Captain who was still sailing at the age of seventy. In 1996, the great-granddaughter of Captain Merrill, and her husband Dan restored the house creating a family owned, historic country Inn.

Enjoy complimentary afternoon tea in our flowering courtyard garden after a day spent exploring our area. Explore the charm of Blue Hill and Castine, with their art galleries, potteries, antique and gift shops, or the stark beauty of Stonington with its fishing fleet at anchor, or discover the grandeur of Acadia National Park on Mt Desert Island, with its fjord, sand beach, rocky inlets and the bustling scenic town of Bar Harbor, or perhaps sail the pristine waters of Penobscot Bay, amid islands sprinkled with mussels, nesting birds and sunbathing seals.

In the evening, take in a concert of chamber music, attend a play, or eat Maine Lobster in Captain Merrills Restaurant where you can savor our favorite Down East dishes made with food supplied by local farms and fishermen. You will sleep well and awake refreshed to breakfast on blueberry pancakes and much more.

There are 6 rooms at the Inn, which include 2 suites for families. All rooms have private baths. Two of the rooms are named for early Blue Hill ships. Eat Indoors or out by candlelight: A twinkling backdrop for simple, relaxing, casually elegant dining.
