Bed and Breakfast Description

Today, a guest can expect indulgent relaxation in this bed and breakfast inn, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has seven fireplaces and two stories of wrap-around porches to enjoy.

Each bedroom has its own balcony space with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the historic village. Breakfast features homemade muffins, scones and bread, fresh fruits, a choice of hot and cold cereals, and gourmet egg dishes such as frittatas, omelets, and quiches. Locally-roasted coffee is served, along with a selection of teas and juices.

Each guestroom has a private bathroom with soft, fluffy towels and rainfall showerheads. The rooms are individually heated and cooled, and have high-speed wireless access to the Internet. Each room has its own balcony space with views of the gardens, Shenandoah National Park and historic village.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Outdoor Activities: There are more than 500 miles of hiking trails a short drive from Hopkins Ordinary. The park and surrounding areas also provide opportunities for bird watching, cycling on Skyline Drive and country roads, and fishing. Luray Caverns is less than half an hour away, and canoeing is available on the Shenandoah River.

Art and Antique Shopping: The village of Sperryville and its surrounding area feature art and antique shopping, along with other small shops, such as bookstores and natural healing arts.

Wine Tasting: Sperryville is surrounded by several award-winning wineries that offer tastings and tours.

Fall Foliage: In late September and October, the trees begin to get ready for winter, offering visitors sensational leaf peeping opportunities for which the area is famous.

Farm Visits: Nearby farms offer tours and opportunities to pick your own fruit in season: berries, apples, peaches, pumpkins. Many of the farms are organic or feature natural, healthy methods.
