The Scarsdale Cottage Inn is a 1890’s Victorian home, located in a quiet district of West Newton, PA. It is within easy walking distance of the downtown shops, a canoe rental, bike rentals, the Great Allegheny Passage, Trail headquarters and eateries. Each room of the house is tastefully decorated, keeping with the Victorian Style of the house.

There is a large common area in the house and plenty of porch space overlooking a large yard and flower gardens. A semi-private deck adjoins the above ground swimming pool. The Carriage House provides a secure area for guests to store their bikes, skis, canoes or anything else they might need to enjoy the nearby attractions.

Each evening, a fresh dessert is served in the dining room. In the morning, guests awaken to fresh brewed coffee, juices, homemade muffins or breads and a full, home-style breakfast, which will prepare them for a day of biking, hiking, spelunking, canoeing down the Yough River, hitting the slopes at Seven Springs, golfing at one of the many local courses, looking for that perfect antique or touring Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater.

West Newton, PA is located in Southwestern Pennsylvania on the northern tip of the Laurel Highlands region. We are almost exactly the halfway between Pittsburgh and the heart of the Laurel Highlands, Ohiopyle State Park. A 45 minute drive will put you into the middle of either. The Youghiogheny River flows through the center of town and the Yough River Bike trail sits to the side of the river.
