Bed and Breakfast Description

Bellows Falls, Vermont bed and breakfast: Readmore Bed, Breakfast & Books

A Victorian bed and breakfast and bookshop in the historic village of Bellows Falls, VT. Our 1892 Colonial Revival is on the National Register, and offers full amenities including woodburning fireplaces, Jacuzzis, private baths, gourmet breakfast, air conditioning, afternoon tea, queen and king sized beds, canopy, antique brass, or sleigh. All feature plush featherbeds, down comforters, and quilts, turndown service and robes, chocolates on the pillows at night for a romantic getaway.

Each of our rooms has books for sale according to theme, and we specialize in cookbooks, gardening, poetry, history, and railroads.

You will dine each morning by candlelight, and in the fall and winter, we'll light a fire. Vintage linens and Irish crystal grace the table, but that is just the stage for the meal. We use local, organic products whenever possible: eggs, milk, butter, world-class cheeses, produce, and maple syrup from our friend's sugar house down the road. Sausage and bacon are handmade locally, but we also offer vegetarian alternatives that are most pleasing, and can cater to any other dietary requirement.

We are now a Vermont Certified Green Hotel, and participate in the Vermont Farm Fresh Network where we network with local farmers and food producers and showcase their foods.
