Elegance abounds in the simplicity of this beautifully maintained 17-room historic Inn, boasting an eclectic who's who of famous guests including John F. Kennedy Jr., Holly Hunter and Leonard Bernstein.

Your location in the heart of Lenox, steps from the village with its many shops, galleries and restaurants, is enviable. The Inn is close to everything (less than one mile from Tanglewood) yet provides a tranquil retreat, set back on five lushly landscaped acres.

All rooms have views of the gardens, with private baths, LCD cable TV, WiFi, spa robes and Aveda products. Many rooms and all suites have king size beds and fireplaces. Our Chef prepares complimentary cooked-to-order breakfasts using organic and locally sourced foods. The Guest Pantry provides beverages and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies throughout the day. Sherry is served each afternoon.

We also invite guests for free wine-tasting of our award-winning Furnace Brook Wines at our Hilltop Orchard farm winery in neighboring Richmond (www.furnacebrookwinery.com). We’ve owned this 200 acre property for 20 years with a goal of maintaining the open space that defines the scenic Berkshire landscape. Open year-round, Fri.-Sun. from 11am-5pm. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in season 9am-5pm. Apple picking in season.

SPRING
Hiking, biking, kyaking, shopping, theater, museums and free wine tasting at the owner's award-winning Furnace Brook Winery at Hilltop Orchards

SUMMER
During the summer the region is the home to the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Shakespeare & Co. and the Berkshire Theatre Festival, to name a few.

FALL
Visit the owner's Hillop Orchards farm for some of the best views of fall folliage in the northest plus free hayrides to pick apples and their famous cider donuts

WINTER
Guests of the Inn cross country ski and snowshoe free at Hilltop Orchards then warm up by the fire. Downhill ski venues are nearby.

The Inn has two suites with a private entrance; Furnace Brook Suite #10 has a separate study plus bedroom and sitting area with firplace and 42" LCD TV. The new bathroom has a claw foot tub and a glass enclosed shower. French doors lead to a private porch

Two deluxe rooms on the 2nd floor of the Inn (rooms #14 & #15), have Ernest Hemingway king poster beds with Ralph Lauren linens, sitting areas, writing desks, fireplaces and private balconies. The decor in these rooms is more typical of a luxury resort.
