Bed and Breakfast Description

Elegance abounds in this beautifully maintained 17-room 1780 historic Inn. Your location in the heart of Lenox, steps from the village with its many shops, galleries and restaurants, is enviable. The Inn is close to everything (less than one mile from Tanglewood) yet provides a tranquil retreat, set back on five lushly landscaped acres.

All rooms have views of the gardens, with private baths, cable TV, spa robes and Aveda products. Many rooms have king size beds and fireplaces. Our Chef prepares complimentary cooked-to-order breakfasts each morning and there are beverages and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the guest pantry. Our chef also prepares 3-course dinners for Inn guests during the summer season.

If you want to truly relax then schedule an appointment for a massage with our licensed therapist in the privacy of our spa treatment room or a yoga session with our certified instructor.

We also invite you to be our guest for wine-tasting of our award-winning Furnace Brook Winery varietals and apple-picking (in season) at our Hilltop Orchard farm in neighboring Richmond (www.furnacebrookwinery.com). We’ve owned this 200 acre apple orchard for 20 years with a goal of preserving the farmland to maintain the open space that defines the beautiful Berkshire landscape. Stop by and enjoy the magnificent views -- we are open year-round, Fri.-Sun. from 11am-5pm.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Inn’s web site has a complete listing of area attractions (too many to list here). During the summer the region is the home to the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Shakespeare & Co. and the Berkshire Theatre Festival, to name a few. Activities such as cycling, kayaking, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing can also be arranged.

Most Popular Rooms:

The four attached Garden Cottages are steps from the Inn and have cathedral ceilings,king beds, sitting areas and fireplaces. Suites #10 and #12 have a private entrance, separate sitting room, 42" flat screen TV and private porch/balcony.

The two deluxe rooms on the second floor of the Inn (rooms #14 & #15), have king poster beds, sitting areas, writing desks, fireplaces and private balconies.
