Area Attractions and Activities:
Marblehead is a truly historic and attractive New England town. Incorporated in 1649, today it features more than 300 buildings constructed before the American Revolution, more than can be found in any other community in America! We say that our Marblehead is the birthplace of the American Navy because in 1775 General George Washington commissioned the great schooner Hannah, and the Hannah was owned and manned by Marbleheaders.
Travelers for pleasure and business alike relish the historic quality of Marblehead, its beautiful harbor and the rocky cliffs of its shoreline. They also like its close proximity to Logan Airport (12 miles) and Boston, and neighboring Salem and Swampscott. It proves a marvelous setting for sailing and fishing enthusiasts, history buffs and weekend escapers too. Whether visiting Boston, exploring the North Shore, or crossing the Atlantic Ocean, travelers find Marblehead a perfect haven - just out of the mainstream and loaded with quaint historic charm.
Most Popular Rooms:
Garden Suite: Both winter and summer, the Garden Suite offers an exceptional experience, with fireplace, private deck and all the amenities of a first class inn.
Tree Tops Suite: A typical day begins with spotting a ship or two sailing out to sea. Tree Tops has a private bath with a deep tub and shower, and a comfortable sitting room. Room is in shades of tree greens and sunshine yellows.
