Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to Thyme Away Bed and Breakfast, a country B&B nestled on five pastoral acres in Central Vancouver Island.

Choose from two lovely rooms in the Main house, one in a French Country decor, and the other in soft pine with luxurious cotton linens in yellow and blues, both with ensuite or private bathrooms. The Carriage House is a favorite for guests who want more space and privacy.

A full kitchen with everything you'll need, a wonderful view of the pastures and mountains, a queen size bed in the bedroom and full bath. An optional adjoining suite with twin/king beds and bath makes this Carriage House great for larger groups.

Delicious, full breakfasts are served using fresh farm eggs, herbs and berries from our own garden. Coombs is a popular tourist destination well known for The Old Country Market, with real goats on the roof! Bike, walk or drive to the Market to buy an ice cream cone and explore the unique shops and antique stores.

Roaring rivers and waterfalls, Old Growth Forests, beaches, golf, kayaking and caving all nearby. Stay at Thyme Away and experience a beautiful setting, warm hospitality and delicious breakfasts.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Enjoy miles of safe, sandy, beautiful beaches in Parksville and Qualicum.

Take in the spectacular trees at Cathedral Grove, an Old Growth Forest, just 15 minutes away or try a Garden Tour at Milner Gardens. Miles of hiking, easy or challenging, at Englishman River Falls, Qualicum Falls, Little Mountain, Mount Arrowsmith or Mount Washington.

Try kayaking or horseback riding. Visit the Wildlife Recovery Centre, where they mend injured birds and animals back to health. Horne Lake Caves offer caving tours for beginners and experienced cavers.

The Old Country Market, famous for its real goats on the sod roof, is just a mile away and offers an array of interesting products from around the world. Fresh veggies, a fabulous bakery and restaurant plus the best ice cream cones! Lots of interesting stores and artisans make it an interesting place to stop, shop and enjoy.

The Carriage House: Perfect for those who want more space and privacy. Vaulted ceilings, a full kitchen, full bathroom and comfortable queen size bed. A covered porch looks out onto the fields and mountains. Sleeps up to six.

The Gardenia Room: Light and airy. Decorated in a French Country theme in off whites and French toille. The comfortable antique bed has soft linens and duvets. The ensuite bathroom has a shower.
