Beautiful 1860 Victorian, once home to sea Captain Melville Walker and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Italianate hip roof, accentuated by Queen Anne period flying staircase, wraparound porch, bay windows, and masterful architectural detail distinguish this historic Inn, welcoming guests since 1946.

The Maine Stay offers a variety of accommodations, all uniquely and exquisitely decorated for your comfort. Whether you choose the Victorian romance of a 19th century room/suite in the main building, or the privacy of a charming cottage suite, you will enjoy exceptional hospitality, and the simple elegance of a bygone era.

Ten rooms with fireplaces, six rooms with whirlpool tubs, cable TV/VCR in every room. Five English Country cottage suites can accommodate families traveling with children and offer full kitchen, full bath.

Awaken to a full New England breakfast, or have yours delivered to your cottage suite door. Afternoon tea and desserts offer a chance to relax with other guests as you plan your evening.

One block from the scenic harbor where you will find whale-watching, lobstering excursions and scenic cruises past Walker's Point, summer residence of former President George Bush and Goat Island Lighthouse. Beach chairs, towels and umbrellas provided for our beach-going guests. Summer theater, New England festivals, fall foliage, horse-drawn sleigh rides and the rocky coast make Kennebunkport and the Maine Stay a year-round destination.

Spend the day on one of our beautiful local beaches. Play in the crashing surf, explore the tidal pool, or stroll along Maine's signature rocky coast! We provide complimentary beach passes to the Kennebunk beaches (with a stay of two or more nights), chairs, towels, and umbrellas to ensure our guests' comfort and enjoyment.

We also have nature preserves with walking trails and rocky coastline drives. Perhaps you will enjoy a whale watching trip, scenic cruise, or even some deep water fishing. In the evening, you can make your choice from a wide variety of dining experiences that will provide a perfect end to a fabulous day.

Cottage Suite #7: Romantic bedroom with queen size, four poster bed, gas fireplace, flat panel TV/DVD, spacious bathroom with corner double whirlpool tub and separate shower. Breakfast room allows option of breakfast delivered to your door!

Room 12 Deluxe Fireplace Suite: Elegant and light-filled queen bedroom with sitting area and private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower. French doors lead into spacious living room with wood-burning fireplace and love seat (double sleeper couch).

Reservation Notes:

We will gladly refund your money if you cancel your reservation more than 14 days prior to your arrival, less a $25.00 cancellation fee per room. Refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of arrival, or before scheduled departure date, are given if we are able to re-rent the room.
