Our 140 year old Greek Revival home is situated on 2 acres of woodland with Lake Michigan sandy beach access 1/2 block away. The focal point of the back lawn is a large screened gazebo where nature can be appreciated to the fullest.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Come experience the refreshing surroundings and simple joys of our traditional bed and breakfast. Hospitality at A Country Place is our specialty with personal attention given to your every need.

Our restored century-old Greek revival is situated on two acres of woodland with a beach access to Lake Michigan one-half block away. It is a perfect setting for those restful and romantic getaways.

The English country theme throughout is created by touches of lace, accents of floral prints, handsome antique furnishings and other small treasures we have collected.

The focal point of the back lawn is a screened gazebo where nature can be appreciated to the fullest. The gazebo is also a perfect place to enjoy a picnic, read a good book or just relax.

A country breakfast featuring home baked goodies from our kitchen is served at your leisure. Weather permitting, breakfast is served on the spacious deck or enclosed summer porch. During the spring and fall, breakfast is served in the formal dining area by the fireside.

The B&B features 5 bedrooms all with private baths with an English country theme throughout.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Your pleasure may be spending time at the beach, shopping, fishing, golfing, or enjoying special local events. Hiking and bicycling can be enjoyed on the thirty-four linear Kal-Haven Trail State Park.

Most Popular Rooms:

Fern Glen Cottage: features a great room, small loft, wood burning Franklin fireplace, enclosed front porch, A/C and a large screened porch. There is a dual king bed on the main floor, two twin beds in the loft and one twin bed on the front porch.

Fern Creek Cottage: newly remodeled cottage, uses the same beach access one half block away. It features 3 Bedrooms, screened porch and full kitchen overlooking a neighboring ravine and small stream.
