![]() Mrs. B's Historic Lanesboro Inn and Restaurant was the first Inn open here in a somewhat sleepy town then. This stately limestone structure was built in 1872 and has played many roles in the beautiful Bluffs Country town of Lanesboro. The first owner, Mrs. B, was instrumental in helping to create the now famous Root River Trail. One can enjoy bike rides of from 1 to 72 miles...all the way to the Mississippi, depending upon stamina. Don't forget to stop at the Whalen Pie Shop. When not bicycling, a cool dip in the river with a tube can take you gently swirling down the river where you will almost surely see plentiful wildlife. Or perhaps your day might be spent in a kayak or canoe on this meandering river. A walk through this quaint town will tease you to visit the many shops for antiques, gifts and perhaps a stop at one of our fine dining establishments, for anything from a char-grilled hamburger to bratwurst and 'kraut'. Or if you prefer, a gourmet meal at the Old Village Hall and Pub. It is said that one day in Lanesboro is just not enough...don't miss the Amish Carriage rides and tours, the art gallery Cornucopia or a trip to the Farmer's Market. Gift Certificates available and make a wonderful gift for any occasion. | "What a delight! We are here on our honeymoon. 1st time to Lanesboro and Mrs. B's! Your gift of flowers in our room and nice card was a pleasant surprise and nice touch. Great hosts, Great food, Great room. Thank you!" - G. & C., MN "Ginger and Terry, what a lovely and delightful Inn you have! Jim and I really enjoyed the walking downtown and looking at all the shops. We surely enjoyed our dish of ice cream at the Das Wurst Haus. This is a charming community that reminds you of a time when life moved at a slower pace. The French toast, delicious fruit, and terrific coffee were very much enjoyed. We will be back!!!There is a great walk to the south along the river and dam. " - J S, Wisconsin |
