Abbewood, built between 1840-1860, is located on North Main St, 5 blocks from Historic Square and Opera House. Its Victorian charm goes hand in hand with that of Historic Abbeville.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Abbewood has been carefully and lovingly restored, bringing the wood back to its natural color.

The rooms have been carefully decorated to give the guest a "home away from home" feeling, with a promise of rest and relaxation including a large upstairs parlor available for guests' use.

The huge wraparound porch, with rockers, beckons the weary traveler to a relaxing getaway weekend. Mini-theatre packages to Historic Opera House productions are available.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Historic Opera House presents year round Broadway productions. Burt Start Mansion available for tours. Antique shopping, hiking and biking a short distance away, historic walking tours.

1st weekend in May is Spring Festival. Day trips to Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Savannah, Asheville. Smoky Mountains, North Carolina and Georgia and day trips to see the state of South Carolina.
