 The three rooms that serve as lodging accommodations for guests are named the Carousel with carousel appointments, Reflections with mirrors, and Iowa State decorated with masculine appointments. There is one shared bath with a marble "sunkin" tub and black cabinets. The private bath is decorated in red, white, and blue, with blue cabinets. A full breakfast is served with a touch of gourmet. Sometimes there is a little brandy or orange liqueur in the product. The freshly baked cinnamon rolls bring requests for the recipe or "can I take one with me." The muffins will have seasonal fruits in them or be a special bran recipe. The recreation room has games for all ages (babes through elders). There is a pool table, table tennis, shuffle board and a snack bar and the cupboard is full of table games for two or more players. Outdoor activities include walking, horse shoe pitching, croquet, basketball, swing set and sand box. Many magazines are provided for browsing while you sit in front of the fireplace on a cool evening. Summer evenings may be spent on the patio or a screened porch depending on the Iowa weather conditions. Area Attractions and Activities: Amana Colonies, Herbert Hoover Memorial Library, art museum, State University of Iowa, Brucemore Mansion, County Lake, local court house. Services: Sitting room, library, fireplaces, TV, accommodations for business travel Most Popular Rooms: Carousel: Decorated w/various carousel appointments. The Lonestar heirloom quilt was made by an aunt. Furniture is restored oak, canopy bed is of white eyelet. Private bath w/red, white & blue decor. Reflections, this room is decorated with mirrors and chrome. The Iowa State room is a take off from the University. |
